Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers - 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you considered the seed? 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 So what is your opinion regarding what you sow? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 [For,] were it Our will, We could indeed turn it into chaff, and you would be left to wonder [and to lament,] 65 (Saying:) 'We are laden with debts! 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Consider the fire that you strike and get by friction. 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
