The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
