Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
