(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
