Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
