Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and outspread carpets. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
