The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
