He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And make my mission easy. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
