Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 He plunged the villages 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
