Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
