Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
