And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
