Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum 43 Is the food of the sinful 44 Like murky oil, it boils within bellies 45 Like the boiling of hot water. 46 (And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell, 47 Then pour unto their heads the boiling water to torment them". 48 "Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour! 49 Surely this is what you disputed about. 50 Verily! The Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2), will be in place of Security (Paradise). 51 Amidst gardens and springs. 52 Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; 53 Thus shall it be. And We shall pair them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 54 They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; 55 They will never taste death therein except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the torment of the blazing Fire, 56 A grace from your Lord; this is the great achievement. 57 Therefore We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue. They may haply take a warning. 58 Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
