The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
