[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 and ease my task for me. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Strengthen me through him 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and remember you often. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
