Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
