Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
