Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dawn 1 and ten nights (of pilgrimage or the last ten days of Ramadan), 2 Consider the multiple and the One! 3 and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). 4 Is there in this an oath for one endowed with understanding? 5 Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? 6 (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, 7 The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? 8 And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- 9 (Also consider the people of) the Pharaoh who victimized people by placing them on the stake, 10 They were tyrants in the land 11 and caused much corruption in them: 12 so your Lord unleashed on them the scourge of punishment: 13 Verily thy Lord is in an ambuscade, 14 Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." 15 But when He tests him by straitening his sustenance, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me.” 16 But nay, nay, [O men, consider all that you do and fail to do:] you are not generous towards the orphan, 17 And urge not on the feeding of the poor. 18 and you devour the inheritance with greed, 19 And you love wealth with exceeding love. 20 When the earth is crushed into small pieces 21 And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks, 22 And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? 23 He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life." 24 But on that Day none will punish as He (Allah) will punish, 25 nor will any bind as He binds. 26 O thou peaceful soul! 27 Return thou unto thy Sustainer, well-pleased [and] pleasing [Him]: 28 Then enter the ranks of My chosen bondmen! 29 yea, enter thou My paradise!" 30
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
