Do you not see that We have appointed devils to incite those who deny the truth to disobedience? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 On the Day when We shall gather the Godconscious unto [Us,] the Most Gracious, as honoured guests, 85 And drive the guilty towards hell, thirsty. 86 On that Day none will have the power to intercede for them except those who received a sanction from the Most Compassionate Lord. 87 They claim: "The Most Compassionate Lord has taken a son to Himself." 88 Indeed, [by this assertion] you have brought forth something monstrous, 89 At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, 90 because they ascribe a son to the Gracious One. 91 It does not become the majesty of the Compassionate God to take to Himself a son: 92 There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant. 93 He does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all) exactly. 94 And each one of them will come unto Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – the Most Gracious will appoint love for them. (In the hearts of other believers.) 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? 98
