The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
