Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So you and your deities 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
