1/2 Hizb 45

۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 Then, are we not to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
