The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
