The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim 1 The Byzantines have been defeated 2 in the neighbouring land; but after their defeat they shall gain victory 3 All matters of the past and future are in the hands of God. The believers will enjoy the help of God on that Day. 4 In Allah's help to victory. He helpeth to victory whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 This is Allah's promise and He does not go back on His promise. But most people do not know. 6 They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware. 7 Do they not reflect on themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in Truth and for an appointed term. Yet many people deny that they will meet their Lord. 8 Have they not journeyed in the land and observed what wise hath been the end of those before them? They were stronger than they in power and they broke up the earth and they inhabited it with greater affluence than these have inhabited it, and their apostles came unto them with evidences. And Allah was not one to wrong them, but themselves they were wont to wrong. 9 Then the fate of those who committed evil to the extreme was that they denied the signs of Allah and used to mock at them. 10
