Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
