Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
