No, by the moon! 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
