The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. 1 No recent revival of the remembrance comes to them from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen 2 Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see? 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them (though We sent them signs), will they then believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
