A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you, let there be no heaviness in your heart about it, so that you may warn by means of it and it is a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
