The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
