Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
