The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
