These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 Will be in the scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing about. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74
