Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
