Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 Warn the men. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
