In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 When it is said to them: "Bow in homage," they do not bow. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be you and the earlier generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
