The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
