Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
