Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake with them, and We placed therein ravines to be paths so that they might be guided. 31 and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet they turn away from these Signs. 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? 34 Every living being must taste death; and We test you with harm and with good – a trial; and to Us only you have to return. 35 And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent. 36 Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So ask Me not to hasten (them). 37 And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 38 If only the disbelievers realised the time when they will not be able to stop the fire from their faces and from their backs – and nor are they to be helped. 39 Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite. 40 They mocked the Messengers who were sent before you; thus, the torment which they had ridiculed encompassed them all. 41
