The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
