۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 And they say: are our gods better, or is he? They mention him not to thee save for disputation. Aye! they are a people contentious. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
