The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 Believers, why do you preach what you do not practice? 2 It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do. 3 God loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as though they were a building well-compacted. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And when (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary said: 'Children of Israel, I am sent to you by Allah to confirm the Torah that was before me, and to give news of a Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) who will come after me whose name shall be Ahmad' Yet when he came to them with clear proofs, they said: 'This is clear sorcery' 6 Who would be more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah the while he is being called to Islam? Allah does not direct such evildoing folk to the Right Way. 7 They wish to put out Allah’s light with their mouths, whereas Allah will perfect His light even if the disbelievers get annoyed. 8 He it is Who has sent forth the Messenger with the Guidance and the True Religion that He may make it prevail over all religion, however those that associate aught with Allah in His Divinity might dislike this. 9
