He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to him thou attendest 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
