The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
