The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
