The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
