Al-Furqaan 2 of 6
Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces. 10 But they reject the hour, and We have prepared a burning fire for him who rejects the hour. 11 When it sees them from a place far off, they will hear its fury and its ranging sigh. 12 And when they are cast within a narrow space of it chained together, they would plead for death. 13 Call not today for a single death but call for death manifold. 14 Ask them "Is this (Fire) better or the everlasting Garden which has been promised to the God-fearing righteous people?" which will be the recompense of their good deeds and the final destination of their journey 15 For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested. 16 And on the Day whereon He will gather them and that which they worship beside Allah and will say: are ye the ones who sent astray these My bondmen; or strayed they themselves from the way? 17 They will answer: 'Exaltations to You. We should not have taken others for a guardian, but You gave them and their fathers enjoyment until they forgot Your Remembrance and they were a destroyed nation' 18 (The idolaters will be told): "Your gods have refuted your assertion. You can neither avert (your doom) nor receive any help. We shall make the wicked among you taste of severe punishment." 19 We never sent any messengers before you who did not eat food and walk in the market-place. We make some of you a means of trial for others, to see whether you are steadfast. Your Lord is all seeing. 20

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
