The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
