Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
