Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
